TAB (Testing, Adjusting and Balancing)

DKY Engineering and Consulting provides measurement and calibration of centralized air-conditioning ( HVAC) systems to meet the design air flow and chilled water flow as required achieving the optimum thermal comfort, energy and IAQ performance.

Testing , Adjusting and Balancing or TAB , balances air flows within occupied space and does hydronic balancing of chilled water flows. This results in finely-tuned and energy-efficient HVAC system.

Today’s HVAC systems are being designed with more individually controlled temperature zones with variable airflow to improve occupant comfort and to provide the exact amount of cooling system capacity in a manner that minimizes overall energy usage.

The testing adjusting and balancing or TAB phase of any building construction or renovation is intended to verify that all HVAC water and airflows and pressures meet the design intent and equipment manufacturers operating requirements. It is rare to find an HVAC system of any size that will perform completely satisfactorily without the benefit of TAB.

Here’s the Benefits of TAB

Measurement and calibration of the HVAC systems to meet the design air flow and chilled water flow as required achieving the optimum thermal comfort, energy and IAQ performance.

  • 1
Balances Air Flows within Occupied space – increasing thermal comfort and ventilation effectiveness
  • 2
Hydronic balancing of chilled water flows – reduces pumping energy
  • 3
Tuning the HVAC system – Good system design and right-sizing equipment is not enough
  • 4
Obtain real energy savings after a TAB process
  • 5
Complete Air-Side and Water-Side TAB of building’s HVAC system operations to achieve optimal and repeatable performance
  • 6
Comprehensive review of design documents to ensure HVAC systems operate as intended
  • 7
Expert Observation of the Installation process
  • 8
Complete Air-Side and Water-Side TAB of building’s HVAC system operations to achieve optimal and repeatable performance
  • 9
Produce incisive report covering the whole HVAC systems design intent and actual performance
  • 10
Troubleshoot problem areas and make adjustments on the HVAC systems to ensure prime performance
